« Sun-kissed dewy skin, tousled hair and salty lips are pretty much on every beach babe’s agenda. Lucky for us, there are plenty of tropical-minded brands that are creating beauty and wellness products using the bounty of Hawaii to help us achieve that look.
From hibiscus flowers to locally-sourced sandalwood hydrosol and Kauai honey, the ingredients used in brands such as Made in Manoa, Gratitude Apothecary and Aim HI Every Day add a piece of paradise to your skincare routine. And yet, there was no place to find all of these all-natural brands and products in one place. Enter Aloha Apothecary.
I started The Edit Hawaii as a way to highlight and celebrate the people, products and places of Hawaii, and that’s also my mission for Aloha Apothecary. My goal for Aloha Apothecary is to provide residents, visitors and island lovers alike a curated selection of all natural beauty and wellness products. In doing so, me and my customers are supporting the community and local entrepreneurs. I’d love for you to join me!
Here’s a peek at Aloha Apothecary’s first campaign featuring Big Island-based model Cherokee Luker. I also enlisted the help of two Oahu-based beauties, photographer IJfke Ridgley and makeup artist (and Snapchat/behind-the-scenes video extraordinaire) Mariah Melanie, and the four of us frolicked along Waimanalo Beach, chasing the sun. And though the sun was in and (mostly) out, the shots came out exactly how I had envisioned: Beauty and the Beach. »
